Responsibilities

  • Provide Clinical Operations leadership and oversight of assigned Oncology personnel and programs, optimizing study processes and streamlining timelines.
  • Serve as Clinical Operations representative on Global Development Teams (GDTs)/Clinical Science Teams (CSTs), providing strategic operational input into Clinical Development Plans.
  • Build global cross-functional partnerships to ensure timely, high-quality, within-budget program delivery; keep stakeholders informed.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks, issues, and opportunities; use analytical judgment to translate insights into actions.
  • Take broad ownership by challenging the status quo, addressing misalignment/delivery risks, and being accountable for outcomes.
  • Use end-to-end knowledge (study design, patient journey, delivery, vendor inputs, data collection, statistics) to mitigate risks to endpoint quality/evaluability.
  • Provide effective CRO oversight (expectations, partnerships, early issue resolution, on-time/on-budget/high-quality delivery).
  • Provide input into short- and long-range therapeutic/functional plans.
  • Participate in Clinical Operations Oncology Senior Leaders Forum to drive goals and initiatives.
  • Lead and manage direct/indirect reports (hire, develop, coach, set goals; develop other people leaders).
  • Lead resource planning; ensure compliance with practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiencies, and operational excellence; may develop SOPs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS/RN with 12+ years relevant experience, or MA/MS/PharmD/PhD with 10+ years.
  • Prior oncology clinical trials/operations experience in company-sponsored trials.
  • Multiple years leading high-complexity programs and/or cross-functional initiatives in clinical operations.
  • RFP development and CRO/vendor selection/management experience.
  • Line management experience hiring/managing diverse talent (preferably managing other people leaders).
  • Extensive registration-intent oncology trial experience; understanding of oncology endpoints.
  • Regulatory knowledge (FDA, EMA, ICH, GCP) and strong financial acumen for budgets/timelines.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, lead without authority, manage stakeholders/conflict, coach staff, manage change, and lead large-scale initiatives.
  • Travel as needed nationally/internationally.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Salary range: $210,375.00–$272,250.00. May include discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
