Director, Cardiac Non-Invasive (Echo) Laboratory

Overview

The Department of Cardiology within the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director for our Cardiac Non‑Invasive (Echo) Laboratory.

As Director, you will oversee and enhance our echocardiography services, lead a team of dedicated professionals, and ensure the highest standards of patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and operational efficiency. Our laboratory performs over 64,000 procedures annually, including TTEs, TEEs, stress echoes, fetal imaging, and intracardiac studies, supporting programs in structural heart disease, mechanical circulatory support, cardiomyopathies, electrophysiology, and pediatric/fetal care.

Additional responsibilities include maximizing research productivity in echocardiography, mentoring fellows and junior faculty, collaborating with other cardiac imaging modalities, and participating in outpatient or inpatient consultative care.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certified with ABIM in Cardiovascular Disease and ABE in Echocardiography
• Eligible for an unrestricted California license as Physician
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of California
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Eligible for appointment to Associate Professor or Professor academic rank in the CSMC professorial series
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff
• Proficiency in clinical skills, including TTE and TEEs; recognized for clinical excellence
• Track record of peer‑reviewed publications and a plan to continue academic work

Compensation

Competitive total compensation including pay, benefits, and other incentive programs. Pay range: $608,000.00 - $949,000.00. Comprehensive faculty benefits package available.
