Director of Ambulatory Services

Director of Ambulatory Services is responsible for setting strategic direction, providing leadership, and driving successful business models for top quality Ambulatory Services at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. He/she will oversee day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategic directions, requiring administrative, financial, strategic planning, marketing, and public‑relations skills. The role involves extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders, non‑clinical decision‑making with institutional and community physicians, nurses, and university administrators at Kaleida Health, and serving as the hospital liaison with corporate functions. The director will work with community and faculty physicians to meet their needs, improve patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and collaborate with nursing leadership to enhance overall satisfaction. The position promotes dynamic, effective leadership and team building, encouraging accountability, responsibility, and decision‑making in team members.

Education & Credentials

  • BS – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required)
  • MS – Master of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Specialty Nursing Certification (preferred)

Experience

A minimum of five to seven years experience in clinical practice management or hospital administration with extensive successful experience in business development, program development, growth, or service line management. Requires the ability to analyze, assess, and articulate effective decisions; to work and reason independently; and a thorough understanding of the financial fundamentals of health care to recommend strategies that improve operations that are quality driven, cost effective, and market sensitive. Demonstrated communication skills for presenting to large and diverse audiences, documented accomplishments in process and performance improvement, and evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity, and problem solving.
