Join the MasTec family and help us provide the highest level of quality service to our clients and communities, maintaining our commitment to safety.Responsibilities:Operate horizontal directional drilling machines, localization equipment, and product support equipment.Install underground telecommunications cables, including fiber optic cables.Ensure the safety of the public and other underground facilities.Perform all tasks in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.Prepare and clean work sites, including traffic and pedestrian control.Read utility locations and coordinate daylight illumination of these installations.Ensure all applicable permits and locations are complete and in place.Inspect work in progress to ensure that the workmanship meets specifications.Operate construction equipment to facilitate the alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to meet leveling specifications.Level the land to final leveling specifications.Operate operation vehicles and equipment, from trucks to other equipment, as directed and certified.Perform proper maintenance, such as greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs to equipment.Lead teams in the field effectively as needed and directed by the supervisor.Qualifications:Safety is part of your daily routine.You have a history of completing work with a high level of quality.You have a knack for solving difficult problems and enjoy a practical approach to your work.You are looking for long-term projects.You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your equipment.You have 3 years of experience as a Directional Drilling Operator/Locator.You have a valid driver’s license.You must obtain a Class A CDL within 30 days of hire.You have experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch units of different sizes and various localization equipment brands.You have experience in underground construction and fiber construction.You know city, county, and state authorization codes and related codes.You can read and understand maps, drawings, and project construction process diagrams.You are willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and to work overtime as needed.The hard work has rewards.
