Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our products are on virtually every U.S. satellite built in the last 20 years.Our San Diego, CA site is in search of a Dimension Control Technician 2 to join our growing team of qualified, diverse individuals for 1st (5:00 am - 2:30 pm) OR 2nd shift (1:00 pm -10:30 pm).Essential Functions:Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required.Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings and/or own design.Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies. - Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details.Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others.May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experienceThe ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 poundsAble to work inside and outside in a warehouse / shop floor environmentAbility to read and determine BlueprintsKnowledge of GD&TPreferred Qualifications:Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Clearance within a reasonable period of time- Strongly preferredKnowledge of laser tracking with assembly tools in an aircraft manufacturing environmentAbility to operate and or be certified to operate a forklift and overhead craneTool and Die or related experienceCreating working build models in software products such as Spatial analyzer, PC- DMIS, NX or VerisufFamiliar with MS Office SuiteSalary Range: $56,600.00 - $94,300.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
