You'll sit at the intersection of manufacturing operations, enterprise systems, and emerging technology, translating operational needs into reliable, well-documented digital solutions.AI enablement is a core part of this roleThe Digital Systems Engineer will serve as Astra's internal expert on AI productivity platforms — helping teams across the business understand, adopt, and get real value from tools like Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
This includes hands-on configuration, use-case development, and ongoing support as the AI tooling landscape evolves.Supporting the broader businessBeyond manufacturing systems, this role serves as a shared digital systems resource across Astra. The Digital Systems Engineer will field requests, troubleshoot issues, and assist with configuration and AI tool needs from teams including Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and Operations — helping each group get more value from the tools they already use.How You'll Fulfill Your MissionConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot Odoo 17 and ION MES — covering day-to-day operations, data integrity, and system updates.Monitor system performance and implement process improvements through structured process mapping and root-cause analysis.Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Shop Floor teams to ensure full and accurate ERP/MES utilization.Partner with IT to maintain clean integration between ERP/MES platforms and other enterprise applications.Analyze ION production data to surface bottlenecks, generate actionable metrics, and propose targeted flow improvements.Build and maintain SOPs within the systems to standardize workflows and reinforce quality control.Develop and deliver user training at all levels; provide responsive technical support and gather feedback for continuous improvement.Design and maintain custom reports and dashboards covering production efficiency, quality, and delivery KPIs.Contribute to ERP/MES implementation projects — requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and go-live support.Champion the practical use of AI platforms (Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and others) across teams — identifying high-value use cases, building internal guides, and supporting adoption.Evaluate and pilot new AI tools relevant to manufacturing operations, reporting, and enterprise workflows, making recommendations for broader rollout.Develop prompt libraries, workflow templates, and best-practice documentation to help teams get consistent, reliable results from AI tools.Why We Value YouBS in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years hands-on ERP and/or MES experience in a manufacturing environmentHands-on Odoo 17 experience — configuration, modules, and reportingSolid understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory, and quality workflowsWorking knowledge of AI productivity platforms (Claude, Copilot, or similar)Clear communicator comfortable working across technical and non-technical teamsSkills & ToolsOdoo 17 ION MES SQL Claude Microsoft Copilot AI Enablement Prompt EngineeringERP Configuration Production Scheduling KPI Dashboards SOP Development Inventory ManagementLean Manufacturing Cross-Functional Support User Training Systems IntegrationDesired MultipliersExperience with ION MES or similar shop floor systemsSQL proficiency for custom queries and reportingExperience building prompt libraries or AI workflow documentationFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodsExposure to MES/shop floor equipment integrations and data collectionThe pay range for this role is: $92,248-120,000Salary and BenefitsWe're competitive in compensation and offer equity as part of the package.
