Role Overview
Digital Illustrators apply 2D graphics expertise to evaluate and improve AI systems'' understanding of real-world illustration and design tasks. In this role you will use tools like GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, LibreSprite and similar software to create, assess, and annotate visual work that helps train and validate AI models.
Key Responsibilities- Develop domain-specific prompts and test cases for AI models that involve 2D illustration and graphic tasks.
- Evaluate language model and AI responses related to visual workflows, assessing accuracy, completeness, and practical usefulness.
- Create or edit visual assets and examples using 2D graphics tools to illustrate real-world professional scenarios.
- Provide clear, domain-informed feedback to research teams to improve AI performance on illustration and design tasks.
- Minimum 1+ year of professional experience using one or more of the following tools: GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, LibreSprite, or other 2D graphics applications.
- Comfort working asynchronously and independently with remote AI research teams.
- Ability to communicate domain knowledge clearly in written feedback and evaluations.
- Location: Remote, asynchronous work from any location.
- Employment type: PART_TIME.
- Schedule: Flexible hours with no minimum weekly commitment required.
- Project placement: Projects are offered periodically; placement depends on project availability. The program runs year-round with opportunities opening across different specialties.
- Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)
- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm whether a given project meets your institution''s requirements.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, these projects may not satisfy that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
