Digital Communications (Open to Work Study and Non-Work Study)This role is open to all applicants and is based in Austin, TX. The position is non-exempt from FLSA and offers up to 15 hours weekly. It is expected to continue until December 31, 2026.PurposeThe Digital Communications Student Assistant works directly with the OnRamps Communications and Marketing team.

This role may include developing, coordinating, scheduling, reviewing, writing, or editing content in a range of formats, including email newsletters, marketing collateral, slide presentations, social media, Canvas, and other platforms used by OnRamps students and partners. The Digital Communications Student Assistant also plays a key role in maintaining our email newsletter metrics, tracking, and analysis. Exercise creativity and contribute to the OnRamps digital communications strategy while sharing our story with students, teachers, and educational administrators across Texas.

This is a remote position with occasional opportunities to attend team meetings and network with other OnRamps student employees virtually and in-person.ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and produce content in adherence with OnRamps brand guidelines and content accessibility guidelinesMonitors audience engagement to identify high-performing content, and conducts data analysis and reporting, which may include researching, compiling data in spreadsheets or databases, and producing reportsSupports the team with content coordination, logistics, tracking reviews, file management and archiving, and day-to-day operations for current marketing initiatives and special projectsCollaborates across teams to create compelling assets that adhere to OnRamps brand guidelines and communicate our mission to a range of audiences, including students, teachers and administratorsAdministrative/project management tasksRequired QualificationsPursuing a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related fieldKnowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and ExcelFamiliarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar applicationsFamiliarity with social media platforms and best practicesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work with moderate independenceAbility to collaborate within a group environmentPreferred QualificationsPrior work experience and/or extracurricular activities with a focus on marketing or communicationsVolunteer leadership experience in extracurricular activitiesExperience writing, editing, or producing contentGeneral knowledge of education on a national or state levelSalary$12.00 - $14.50 hourlyWorking ConditionsMay work around standard office conditions.Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.Remote work environmentUse of manual dexterityRequired MaterialsPlease mark "yes" on the application question that asks if additional materials are required.
