Principal Network EngineerGES is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. The Principal Network Engineer will design, develop, configure, and deploy network services within the Azure Cloud and data centers to fulfill end user requirements.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must have an active DoD Secret clearance. (US Citizenship required)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide thought leadership to team of network engineers, actively identifying opportunities for improvement including innovations aimed at improving the user experience, improving efficiencies, and lowering sustainment costsDesign, maintain, and operate Wireless and Local Area Networks (LANs/WLAN) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), using Infrastructure as Code and Ansible Automation PlatformLead the migration of DISA and other DoD organizations to IPv6Automate network changes on across various vendor platforms and Azure CloudProvide inputs to the design of the enterprise's network and mission architectureEvaluate network architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and network modernization strategies, capabilities and requirement setsEnforce security best practices and guidelines, leveraging knowledge of security policies, network security, and data securityBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experienceExperience designing, deploying, and operating software defined networking solutionsExpert understanding of networking in the areas of LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, proxies, routing (L2/L3), firewalls and software defined networkingExperience implementing dual-stack networking to use both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses simultaneouslyUnderstanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMAAbility to work effectively within a distributed technical team, aided by strong written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and ConfluenceCurrent IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security + or CISSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalentWorking experience installing, configuring, and managing Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM)
