General Summary
Develops and teaches classes in various aspects diesel technology.
Specific Position Duties
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.
- Demonstrates the willingness and ability to teach various courses, schedules, locations, and delivery methods, as needed and as reasonably requested by the College.
- Utilizes appropriately challenging coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners.
- Provides students with written expectations, including syllabi, policies, assignment instructions, and graded evaluations.
- Administers assessments that are appropriate to the course content, including a comprehensive final exam that measures students’ overall mastery of the course objectives.
- Through various instructional methods, affirms the worth and dignity of all persons and supports every student’s right to learn.
- Maintains an appropriate learning and assessment environment in traditional, online, and distance education settings that encourages the free exchange of ideas while upholding academic honesty and objectivity.
- Prepares adequately for class and arrives promptly for class meetings, labs, and other scheduled instructional activities.
- Delivers course material in a clear and understandable manner.
- Addresses student concerns, including comments, questions, and feedback, through class discussions, posted office hours, timely electronic communication, and other appropriate means.
- Effectively carries out routine procedures necessary for the successful day-to-day operation of the department, as delegated by the department chair.
