Diesel Technician / MechanicWe are offering a $ Sign on Bonus for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Hodgkins, IL. Please note - We will be moving to a new facility in Granite City, IL as of 6/22/26.You will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsExternal Qualifications and CompetenciesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:Performs complex unassisted engine overhaulsAbility to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic toolsMentor junior technicians including technical support and documentationProficient knowledge in troubleshooting Cummins electrical and aftertreatment using Cummins Insite.Proficient work experience in replacing internal components (head, pistons, liners, etc.).Embrace the Cummins values and use them daily.Reliable and a self-starter with a positive attitude that contributes to the team.Customer focus mentality.Follow and maintain the DOT requirements needed for this position if a CDL is held.Union shop.Compensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
