Diesel TechnicianWe are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Kearny, NJ.Hours: Will train on the 7:00 AM – 3:30PM shift. After training, will transition to the 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM shift.In this role will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsExternal Qualifications and CompetenciesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnosticsRequires direct supervision and review of workmanship qualityDemonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic softwareCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.A current valid license is required for this role. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations. This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical- 3 years driving experience.
