Job DescriptionJob Summary:Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Downey, CA.Will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsExternal Qualifications and CompetenciesIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Completes complex internal engine repairsPerforms engine overhauls unassistedDetailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and componentsProficient experience with engine diagnostic softwareAdditional Responsibilities Unique to this Position5 yrs "heavy line" engine experience, including overhauls Knowledge of Cummins Diesel/Nat Gas engines and associated repair practices Knowledge of Cummins warranty policies and procedures Computer literate (Insite, QSOL, MS Office, Teams) Ability to communicate details of troubleshooting steps and repair results8:30 am - 5 pmDOT- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
