Diesel Technician And Virginia State InspectorNorfolk Truck Center is looking for an experienced Diesel Technician who is also a Virginia State Inspector to join our team!This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys a variety of work and takes pride in keeping commercial vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road. Our Virginia State Inspector will perform Virginia safety inspections on both light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, while also working alongside our service team on a variety of diesel repair and maintenance needs.What You’ll Do:Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections on light- and heavy-duty vehiclesInspect vehicles according to Virginia safety inspection requirements and regulationsAccurately document inspection results and communicate needed repairsDiagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered commercial vehiclesPerform preventative maintenance and routine serviceComplete brake, steering, suspension, and other related repairsWork with service advisors and other technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficientlyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaAssist with other shop and service department needs as requiredWhat We’re Looking For:Current Virginia State Safety Inspector certification for the appropriate vehicle classificationsExperience inspecting light, medium, and heavy-duty vehiclesDiesel technician or commercial truck repair experienceStrong mechanical skillsAbility to accurately identify safety concerns and needed repairsDependable, detail-oriented, and safety-mindedAbility to work independently while also being part of a teamA valid driver's licenseAdditional certifications or experience with commercial trucks and diesel systems are a plusWhy Norfolk Truck Center?We're a family-owned and operated business serving Hampton Roads since 1969.
