Job TitleInspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment.Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment.Establishes and maintains positive working relationshipsMaintains regular and predictable attendancePerforms other duties as assigned.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExtensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repairExcellent mechanical repair skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to visually diagnose mechanical issuesAbility to read service and repair manualsAbility to perform repairs in a timely fashionAbility to read work ordersProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareQualifications and Education RequirementsHigh school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program and actively pursuing a degree in Diesel Technology.Physical RequirementsMust be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100lbs. Must be able to inspect the vehicle to determine repairs needed Good vision to inspect repair work Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspectionsOtherSafety shoes (steel or composite toe) requiredWork EnvironmentThe nature of the environment is one in which the employee may come in contact with outside weather conditions, vibration, and moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or extreme heat, and excessive noise levels.
