Maintenance Technician(2:30pm - 11pm) The Maintenance Technician is a skilled role specializing in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to always ensure safe operation and roadworthiness of Proficient Fleet. What We Offer:$20 - $35 Per Hour Depending on ExperienceResponsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance measures on trucks and trailersAssembling & dissembling vehicle engines and cleaning fuel tanksMaintaining hubs and axles, adjusting or replacing as requiredAbility to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issuesMaintains brake, electrical and hydraulic systemsRepairs and replaces vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissionsCompiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, reports findings to managementWorks with a sense of urgency and accuracy to keep fleet operational and safe at all timesTest drives fleet to gauge performanceSupports with parts inventory, cleanliness and safety of the shop environmentEnsures tools, parts, and other equipment are in safe and operational conditionMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.Experience, Education, Requirements:ASE Diesel Certification helpful (not required)Associates degree in heavy truck technology helpful (not required)Minimum of 1 year experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic requiredMust possess a valid driver's licensePossess an in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, hydraulics, air brakes, & electrical systemsManual dexterity, experience with hand toolsAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, with long periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting.Ability to work safety, with excellent attention to detailMust be physically able to lift up to 75 lbsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills
