Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment TechnicianSkilled Trades Partners is partnering with a well-established and growing heavy civil/sitework contractor to hire an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician for their Lakeville, MA operation. This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity with a company that maintains a large fleet of construction equipment supporting commercial, utility, excavation, and site development projects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.We're seeking a hands-on mechanic who can confidently diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment while helping keep a busy fleet operating safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, and undercarriage componentsPerform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled service on heavy construction equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtimeService and repair equipment including: ExcavatorsDozersWheel LoadersSkid SteersRollersOther heavy construction equipmentConduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs before failures occurComplete repair orders, service records, and maintenance documentationAssist with field service repairs and emergency breakdowns as neededMaintain a safe, organized, and professional work environmentFollow all company safety policies and manufacturer service proceduresQualifications3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or similar roleStrong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain componentsExperience troubleshooting and repairing heavy construction equipmentAbility to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationWelding and fabrication experience is a plusCDL license is a plus but not requiredValid driver's license requiredAbility to work independently and manage multiple repair prioritiesWhat This Opportunity OffersCompetitive pay based on experienceFull benefits packageStable, year-round workModern fleet and equipmentLong-term career growth opportunitiesDirect hire opportunity with an established and respected civil construction contractorIf you're an experienced heavy equipment mechanic looking for a long-term opportunity with a company that values quality work, safety, and employee development, we'd like to speak with you.
