Diesel MechanicWorking under limited supervision, a truck technician performs preventative maintenance, runs inspections, diagnostics tests, and repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment. The truck technicians utilize computer diagnostics and work with fleet maintenance software programs to document part usage, account for repair time, and more. Hydraulics experience preferred, welding exp a plus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The team atmosphere we mentioned above is critical to the success of our shops!

The technicians work closely with operations, and may be called upon to make road calls and assist in emergency situations on a route. Waste Management technicians pride themselves on doing the work right the first time and we look for this same sense of personal ownership of work when considering new members for our team. We also offer on-the-job training and encourage continuous learning and higher education to keep skills up to date.There may be the opportunity for overtime, as well as weekend and/or holiday work.

Since our technicians are working with heavy equipment in a shop environment, it is required that they be able to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
