Journeyman MechanicThe Journeyman Mechanic has the responsibility to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs.Reports to: Shop ManagerEssential Job Duties:Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipmentInterprets work orders and technical manualsKeeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintainedDiagnoses faults or malfunctionsAdjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systemsObeys all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rulesUndertakes the training and assessment required under the training planScope of Responsibility:The Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role interprets work orders, identifies mechanical issues, performs necessary repairs or adjustments, and upholds all safety and compliance standards.
