Die SetterConsider joining the Pennex family as a Die Setter in our Wellsville, PA location. The Die Setter is an entry level position that prepares and sets up tooling from the extrusion schedule to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. The Die Setter is responsible for tooling going through the caustic room.

Die Setters may need to adapt to changing press schedules.Must be able to work either shift:7pm to 7am with rotating days and weekends.7am to 7pm with rotating days and weekends.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures enough dies are in the die ovens at each press based upon the production schedule.Transfers dies to and from inventory system.Recycles failed dies quickly.Places dies in caustic solution to clean them of aluminum residue.Assists with die flow movement for staging and preparation.Utilizes a crane system for loading and unloading of caustic tanks.Operates a caustic system when needed.Disassembles dies and rinse.Operates automatic media blasting machine.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsIdeal Candidate Will Have:EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentAdditional technical or vocational training in machining, machine operation, or related fields is preferredExperiencePrevious experience in a similar manufacturing environment is preferredOther Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.Ability to write simple correspondenceAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume and distanceAbility to apply understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsForklift Operator's license and have prior forklift experience is a plusMust be able to pass a preemployment physical and drug screenMust be authorized to work in the US, sponsorships are not availableMust have regular attendanceEnvironmental HazardsPhysicalThe employee is regularly required to standThe employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hearThe employee is occasionally required to sit and use handsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perceptionWork EnvironmentThe employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heatThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud
