Job Title: Die Setter Location: Waukegan, IL Pay Rate: $21.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Employment Type: Temp - to - HireJob Overview for the Die Setter role: We are currently seeking an experienced Die Setter – Automatics to join our team in a fast-paced metal stamping environment. This role is responsible for coordinating die setup operations, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining safety standards across all assigned punch press machines.Key Responsibilities for Die setter:Lead and instruct automatic die setters and machine operators based on production prioritiesSet up and change dies on automatic punch press machinesInspect parts and raw materials using measuring tools and blueprintsMonitor press operations, including feeders, cradles, and dies for proper functionTrain team members on safe and efficient machine operationMove dies and materials with proper documentationEnsure all equipment is operated according to manufacturer specificationsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentFollow all OSHA and company safety regulationsReport issues or malfunctions to supervisors promptlyPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:Experience in metal stamping and automatic punch press operationsPrevious leadership or supervisory experience preferredAbility to read blueprints and use measuring toolsStrong understanding of safety procedures and machine operationsAbility to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs safelyStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsJoin the SMS team!
