Die Maintenance - Perm Mold22-May-2026 to Until Filled (CST)Aluminum1409 Vine Street, Le Sueur, MN, United States28 per hour $25 DOQ plus $1.25 shift differential plus $1.75 shift premiumHourlyFull TimeMedical and Dental Benefits, 401k with Match, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Appreciation Events and more!2nd, 3rd and weekend shifts available.The Position:The Tool Maintenance Technician - Permanent Mold is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving permanent mold tooling used in aluminum (or other metal) casting operations. This role ensures molds and related tooling are in optimal condition to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production.Duties & Responsibilities:Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on permanent molds and related tooling.Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble molds.Troubleshoot mold-related defects (flash, mismatch, porosity, sticking, etc.).Operate tool room equipment such as milling machines, grinders, lathes, and polishing tools.Maintain mold cooling lines, ejector systems, slides, and cores.Ensure proper alignment and fit of mold components.Modify molds as required for process improvements or engineering changes.Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve tooling issues.Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of heavy tooling.Assist in new mold trials and setup when required.Education & Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.2+ years of experience in tool maintenance, preferably in permanent mold or foundry operations.Strong understanding of permanent mold casting processes.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.Familiarity with measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators).Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.Knowledge of mold coatings and release agents.Basic knowledge of hydraulics and cooling systems.Functional RequirementsRoutinely able to:Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bendPower grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truckWalk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaksPush/pull up to 100 lbs.See, inspect, handle and evaluate product qualityRead and understand written English language work instructionsWork in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditionsClimb ladders and stairs of varying heightsWear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSIProtective FootwearHearing ProtectionProtective EyewearGlovesAdditional PPE may as required by specific tasksIndustry Leading Benefits:Generous medical/dental insurance planFlexible PTO/UTO policy401k with company matchCompany-paid Short-term disabilityEmployee assistance planCareer advancementFormal leadership developmentEducation reimbursement programRecognition and awards
