Summary
Performs radiographic procedures and a variety of technical procedures to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients that require independent judgement, in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the age of the patient served by the Department of Imaging Services.
Job Qualifications
Education: Requires two (2) years of college. General knowledge of a specialized or technical field normally associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree.
Experience: No prior experience required. Could rely on education and knowledge required for employment. Three to six months required for learning period.
License: NYS Radiologic Technologist; ARRT certification or eligibility.
Working Conditions
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity.
Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk.
Physical Effort: Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force.
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
