Reporting to: Senior Director of Sales Planning, Americas
Role Mission
We are seeking an analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented Sales Planner Sephora to translate brand strategy into actionable channel plans, SKU-level forecasts, and precise inventory decisions for Sephora US & Canada. This role covers the complete Dolce & Gabbana Beauty portfolio.
The Sales Planner owns SKU-level demand forecasting, replenishment planning, order management, and inventory health for Sephora. Partnering closely with Key Account Managers (KAMs), Supply Chain, Trade Marketing, and Sephora Merchant/Planning teams, this position ensures seamless launch excellence, robust inventory availability, and optimal sell-in and sell-out growth across all beauty categories.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Sales Planning
- Own rolling SKU-level sell-in and demand forecasts across assigned Sephora doors and Sephora.com for Fragrances, Makeup, and Skincare (including core SKUs, novelties, shade extensions, travel formats, and sets/coffrets).
- Align annual, monthly, and weekly retail sales plans with KAMs, Sales Leadership, and Sephora Planners to build strategic action plans.
- Develop launch forecasts, initial pipeline estimates, and expansion builds, incorporating Sephora promotional calendars, marketing animations, and digital support.
- Provide monthly gross shipping projections, analyzing historical sell-through ratios, rate of sale by door tier, and sub-category performance.
Inventory & Order Management
- Maintain accurate SKU setups, pricing, shade listings, and cost structures in Sephora and internal ERP systems.
- Validate and process daily EDI orders, verifying allocations and resolving order transmission/pricing discrepancies.
- Produce weekly location-level sales, inventory health, and Out-of-Stock (OOS) reports; propose proactive replenishment and build-order adjustments.
- Reconcile warehouse stock against Sephora committed allocations to prevent shortages, managing component availability and set-assembly constraints.
Sephora Sampling, GWPs & Marketing Toolkits
- Manage, set up, and execute orders for Sephora sampling programs (e.g., Beauty Offer grids, Digital Sampling, subscription boxes, and pre-sampling campaigns).
- Reconcile sampling and Gift-With-Purchase (GWP) inventory against programmed allocations in the Split Ship Grid, ensuring on-time delivery to Sephora distribution centers.
- Plan and build monthly/seasonal toolkit orders across all categories, including testers, hygiene disposables, shade trays, glorifiers, blotters, and discovery materials for Sephora counters/gondolas.
- Partner with Trade Marketing and Field Teams to anticipate Sephora gondola updates, seasonal visual rotations, and animated events.
Cross-Functional & Sephora Merchant Collaboration
- Participate in recurring Business Reviews and inventory touchpoints with Sephora Merchant and Demand Planning counterparts to communicate stock health, risks, and launch readiness.
- Work seamlessly with internal teams (KAMs, Supply Chain, Operations, Trade Marketing) to address supply constraints, lead times, and shipping priorities.
- Provide continuous inventory and sell-out insights to maximize ROI on Sephora co-op programs, animations, and promotional events.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Sales Planning, Demand Planning, or Inventory Planning within the Beauty, Prestige Cosmetics, or Luxury CPG industry.
- Direct experience managing Sephora (or key prestige beauty retailers) across multi-category portfolios (Fragrance, Makeup, and Skincare) is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in SKU-level forecasting, EDI order management, and managing retailer inventory portals.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex lookups, financial/inventory modeling).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP), EDI platforms, and Sephora vendor portals (e.g., Sephora Vendor Center / Retail Link tools).
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex retail data into clear operational strategy.
- Exceptional organizational and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Experience with multi-category launches, shade management (Makeup), sampling/GWP programs, and counter/gondola toolkit setup.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
