DevOps EngineerDevOps Engineer will work with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment. This role requires a background in development, operations, and full-stack software implementations.This is a hybrid role and must be located in Chicago (or within commutable distance) to be onsite as needed/on occasion.ResponsibilitiesIs well versed in programming in a high-level language such as TypeScript, Python, Java, C# or other languages to script installation, configuration, and provisioningProvide continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment and have experience with the core suite of tools used to manage AWS cloud infrastructureEstablish and employ Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Harness, ArgoCD, Github Action or other CI toolsConfigure management automation tools from AWS or other cloud providers in creating continuous delivery systemsEmploy industry Continuous Delivery patterns and collaboratively work with other members to achieve successful continuous delivery solutionsResponsible for mentoring and teaching existing team membersClearly explain solutions for complex problems and demonstrate ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to junior resourcesContinually improve cyber resilience.Collect DevOps automation requirements from development teamsDesign devops pipelines for applications based on existing company standardsBuild cloud infrastructure pipelines based on existing company standardsBuild CI/CD pipelines based on existing company standards for cloud applicationsSupport and maintain existing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelinesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience5 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operationsExperience optimizing applications, both stand-alone and in distributed systems to maximize performanceExperience maintaining infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new featuresAny AWS CertificationFamiliarity with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologiesComfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional bordersComfort with frequent changes in prioritiesAbility to clearly articulate design and implementation choicesExperience managing multi-tenant Kubernetes clusterContinuous integration tools such as Harness ArgoCD, Github Action or similarScripting (Python, JS, GO Lang, Bash) skills for monitoring and automationPossess a strong grasp of automation toolsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsTime and priority managementA team player with strong communication and interpersonal skillsPreferredExperience leading small teamsAWS CDKObject-Oriented Programming Experience.
