Sr/Lead DevOps EngineerLocation: Hybrid / Onsite (2 days per week) in Charlotte NCType: Long term contractNumber of Positions: 2There are 2 roles available here, 1 lead – 1 Sr for Devops (not just managing the infrastructure, but building the CI/CD platforms for features/updates on SaaS applications to be deployed from).The role is onsite 2 days per week in Charlotte from Day 1Skills Needed:AWS Cloud ServicesDocker/Kubernetes (Helm preferred)Programming in Python, Go, or Java (not just bash scripting) for new CI/CD pipelines to deploy MicroServicesAnsible or Terraform IaC skills (writing, not just using)The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, monitoring and updating the application release processes and pipelines. They automate and integrate development and infrastructure processes so that we can seize market opportunity without compromising quality.The ideal candidate will act as an evangelist and champion the DevOps culture and be the change agent to help to foster a cultural shift in the software delivery process. Along with automation, they will focus on improving communication, collaboration that facilitate iterative improvement.RequirementsCollaborate with development and other cross functional team to create operational roadmaps.Design and develop tool chains for managing and applying DevOps principles, such as CI/CD automation and IaaC (Infrastructure as a Code) on our Cloud-based systems.Introduce new frameworks to boost the team's productivity.Define and implement development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.Design and optimize a monitoring and alert system based on system metrics, analysis of log files, and custom alert rules.
Understand High Availability architectures to maintain 99.99% availability SLAPerform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.Design, implement, and administer platform tools to support release of software products with AWSWhat will set you apart:Security experience - VPN, SSL, work with security advisors (first level for any security threats, white/black box evaluation/pen tests).Familiarity with Git workflows and branching strategies (e.g. GitOps, Git Flow, etc).Data management experience (SQL and NoSQL DBs, AWS RDS).Experience with reliability engineering - monitoring, logging, and alerting.Basic QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or other related scientific or technical discipline with 10+ years related professional experience.5+ years of experience in these or similar tools/tech: Bash, Python, Java, Golang, Maven, Gradle, Kubernetes, Helm, Puppet, Chef, Ansible.Experience with AWS - VPC, Route53, IAM, S3, EC2Experience with dev tools - yarn, NPM, GitHub, JIRA.Experience with containerization tools - Kubernetes, Helm, Docker.Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and be proactive.
