Developmental Psychologist (PhD) for AI Training

Role Overview

Apply developmental psychology and child development expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on providing high-quality, real-world expert input that improves how AI models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and annotate datasets related to child development and developmental psychology for AI training.
• Provide detailed feedback on the accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and developmental relevance of data and model outputs.
• Develop scenarios, test cases, and analyses involving children’s learning and behavior.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to support model improvements and maintain psychological integrity in AI interactions.
• Create or refine guidance addressing linguistic, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects of child development across diverse backgrounds.
• Document findings and recommendations clearly to support continuing AI research and development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Strong expertise in child development and developmental psychology.
• Research or academic experience in child development or developmental psychology, with or without direct clinical experience.
• Experience with technology-driven, digital, or AI-focused child-development projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently through digital platforms while collaborating with a distributed team.

Language Preferences

Priority is given to applicants proficient in Japanese, French, Tagalog, Malay, Lithuanian, Russian, Georgian, Polish, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Swahili, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Turkish, Gujarati, or Bulgarian.

Work Terms

• Remote, independent contractor engagement.

Compensation

• $100 to $200 per hour.
