Position

Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank within the Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

Clinical Setting

Patients include children with neurodevelopmental or behavioral concerns, autism, intellectual disability, high-risk infant follow up, mental/emotional/behavioral problems (MEB), neuro-motor disabilities such as cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, and children at risk due to early childhood adversity. Care is provided at the Riverside Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health Center (opening late 2024), the Battle Building outpatient clinic, the UVA Health Children's Hospital, and various rural outreach clinics. The division collaborates with pediatric psychology, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, PT, OT, SLP, SW, nutrition, educational consultants, and family navigators.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Teaching responsibilities for University of Virginia School of Medicine students, pediatric residents, and developmental behavioral pediatric fellows.
  • Clinical expertise required in autism assessment.
  • Engage in clinical/translational research activities independent or collaboratively with existing research programs.
  • Participate in advocacy initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree.
  • Board‑eligible or board‑certified in developmental‑behavioral pediatrics.
  • Clinical expertise in autism assessment.
