The Golisano Children's Hospital of the University of Rochester is seeking a faculty member for its Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. This role involves patient care in a multidisciplinary clinic, participation in active clinical and research programs, and contributions to graduate medical education. The position offers an engaging environment within a vibrant division focused on autism spectrum disorders, health disparities, and other developmental and behavioral conditions.

Practice Info

  • Vibrant multidisciplinary division with approximately 90 faculty and staff
  • Focus on autism spectrum disorders, health disparities among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, needs of transition-age youth, and developmental and behavioral screening
  • Provides developmental diagnosis and management for children and youth from the Rochester metropolitan area and Western New York State
  • Over 10,000 annual visits to the interdisciplinary Developmental and Behavioral Pediatric clinic
  • Outpatient clinic setting co-locates Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Child Neurology, and Child Psychiatry in a new building
  • Consultation on inpatients at the new Golisano Children's Hospital on an on-call rotation basis

Responsibilities

  • Perform developmental assessment and diagnosis of children and youth, with essential experience in autism spectrum disorders
  • Make decisions in patient care for developmental and behavioral conditions
  • Monitor appropriateness of therapeutic management and care
  • Promote patient care outcomes through Quality Improvement
  • Establish a coordinated care plan for each patient, providing consultative services to other physicians and clinical providers
  • Integrate innovative approaches to patient care, such as telehealth or tele-mentoring
  • Teach and supervise patient care of assigned medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Participate in the development of divisional policies, procedures, and standards

Compensation

  • Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on market data, experience, and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries
  • Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process

Requirements

  • Board Certification or eligibility in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics required
  • Candidates with Board Certification in Pediatrics and substantial clinical experience caring for children with developmental disabilities may also be considered
  • Demonstrated skills and experience to participate in the Division's academic programs, such as subspecialty clinical care, fellowship training, clinical research, and community partnerships
