Remote (Eastern Time Preferred) | $150,000 - $170,000 + Bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Development Lead to provide technical leadership for a growing software engineering team supporting strategic internal platforms and AI-enabled initiatives. This individual will serve as a hands-on technical leader, partnering with software engineers, business stakeholders, and leadership teams to design, build, and support scalable enterprise applications.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer or technical lead who enjoys a blend of architecture, development, mentoring, and delivery leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software applications
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices
• Support solution architecture, technical design, and delivery planning
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support production environments
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement
• Collaborate with U.S. and offshore development resources
• Support technical hiring and team growth initiatives

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Prior experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern backend development frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices architectures
• Experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Experience

• Distributed systems and asynchronous processing
• Event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration
• Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, SQS, or similar messaging technologies
• Microservices and platform engineering
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and API security
• AI applications, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows
• Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
