DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The LIT Movement — Living In Testimony

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a visionary Director of Development to lead the revenue strategy and fundraising initiatives for The LIT Movement. This is more than a development job — it’s a call to architect financial sustainability for an organization dedicated to saving and transforming lives.

Since 2018, we’ve been walking shoulder‑to‑shoulder with men overcoming addiction, incarceration, and homelessness. Through long‑term sober living, peer‑led coaching, wrap‑around supports, and Christ‑centered discipleship, we’re helping people not just get clean, but stay free. To date, we’ve served over 700 individuals across Greater Cincinnati. This is a movement of hope, healing, and second chances.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design and implement a multi‑year development strategy aligned with annual revenue targets

  • Oversee the complete donor journey: identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

  • Research, write, and submit competitive grant proposals to foundations and government agencies

  • Lead logistics, marketing, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination for major annual events

  • Manage our donor database (CRM) and track key fundraising metrics

  • Partner with our Board of Directors and development committee to expand fundraising capacity

  • Prepare strategic reports for leadership on development performance and opportunities

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience

  • Proven track record in major gift cultivation and large‑scale event management

  • Expert donor database (CRM) management and digital fundraising tools proficiency

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a gift for persuasive storytelling

  • Skilled project manager who thrives managing complex timelines and multiple stakeholders

  • Preferred: CFRE certification, experience in recovery, social services, or faith‑based sectors, digital fundraising expertise

WORK ENVIRONMENT & BENEFITS

  • Hybrid Flexibility - in‑office and remote work scheduled strategically to strengthen collaboration and team connection

  • Competitive Compensation, starting at 55K - full‑time, exempt salaried position with a competitive benefits package

  • Intentional Culture - where your faith, values, and desire to serve are not just welcomed but celebrated

  • Flexible Engagement - freedom for donor meetings, event site visits, and occasional evening or weekend events when needed
