THE OPPORTUNITY AND JOB OBJECTIVE
The Friends of the Texas Historical Commission (FTHC) is seeking a Development Director to help lead the next phase of philanthropic and programming growth and organizational impact.
Core Responsibilities
- Critical leadership position within the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission
- Strategic planning and implementation of development priorities across the organization.
- Build, grow, and manage a disciplined pipeline of major and principal gift donors
- Coordinate all foundation and institutional fundraising to support capital and program/project fundraising campaigns
- Drive effective marketing and communications strategies
- Optimize systems, processes, reporting, and performance tracking to support scalable and sustainable growth in fundraising
- Support the development and expansion of existing programming.
- Assist in strengthening board engagement, accountability, and leadership in fundraising and governance.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited four-year college or university
- 12+ years in the nonprofit/government sector, including 10+ years of fundraising experience and 5+ years in nonprofit leadership.
- Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
