HandsOn San Diego is dedicated to volunteer action—so much so that we are a volunteer-powered organization. As such, we are always looking for additional committee members. Each committee meets virtually at least once a month and has representatives from our staff and advisory board present.
Development Committee
- Researching and building relationships with corporations and government agencies
- Researching grant and funding sources
- Researching and exploring ideas around annual events (i.e., San Diego Gives, Global Volunteer Month)
- Researching and mapping out an individual online giving campaign
- Developing and refining a case for support for donating to HandsOn San Diego
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Time Commitment: Flexible, 2-4 hours/month for at least 6 months.
Onboarding Process: Application, interest phone call, background check, and orientation. This process typically takes 1-2 weeks.
Desired Skills/Experience: Interest in or experience with fundraising (ex: grant writing, donor relationship building, crowdfunding, planned giving, major gifts, sponsorships, capital campaigns) and/or event planning.
Physical Requirements: This opportunity is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations.
Location: This opportunity takes place remotely.
