Your responsibilities include:Partnering with the DevOps team and the EDA Calculation Framework team to leverage tools in AWS for optimizing, scaling, monitoring, and cost attribution of the calculation frameworkEnhance Quant Analytics CI pipeline for fast turnaround of build, test, and deployment into the Cloud on Jenkins and TeamCity infrastructureThe Enterprise Data & Analytics Technology group (EDA) develops and operates a set of front-to-back applications that support P&L and market risk calculations (e.g. VaR, FRTB).
The EDA Calculation Framework team owns and develops the core technology components which enable analytics for these applications to run on the EDA Platform.Our agile and innovative team is looking to grow in 2022 to adopt Cloud technology and provide the next generation calculation and analytics platform for the firm’s risk reporting needs. Join our communicative team that collaborates seamlessly between locations in NY, London, and Poland.Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:Deprecating non-strategic, non-cloud infrastructure and migrating users to strategic cloud-based toolsUnderstanding metrics collected profiling tools, presenting results, suggesting improvements, and building buy-inDelivering a high-quality, scalable solution which is resilient and requires little maintenanceEssentials Skills and Qualifications:Proficiency in:Efficiently operating large amounts of infrastructure in the cloud, ideally AWSDeployment and operation of common application orchestration platforms, such as Hashicorp Nomad and KubernetesLinux and Windows infrastructure build and deploymentScripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, source control via GitBuild and configuration of CI and CD pipelines, ideally with Jenkins or TeamCityMonitoring stacks, such as Prometheus, AlertManager Grafana, ELKExposure to Java, and.Net and.Net Core based applicationsExperience in creating reports from operational metrics and logs for use in automation and data-driven decision makingThe EDA group has recently undertaken the biggest cloud migration project, lifting and shifting the existing EDA platform from on-premise to the public cloud. The next stage of development is to upgrade various components and redesign them in a cloud-native fashion to fully unlock the potential of running large scale Enterprise calculations in the cloud.
One part of this is to extend the current UI tool visualizing Quant analytics to represent significantly larger calculations in a way that makes them easily accessible to Quant developers and highlights problematic areas that require improvement (e.g. hotspot detection).This role is a unique opportunity to become part of a growing team that implements the next-generation cloud-native software for risk analytics.
