DevOps EngineerThe DevOps Engineer will play a key role in control within Integrated Supply & Trading in the North American Gas and Power Trading business. This role is for a senior DevOps Engineer for the US Gas Market risk exposure reporting solution. The US gas business is the biggest by volume and complexity within BP and this is a new implementation of the Market Risk gas exposure reporting solution.
This role holds the primary interface with the Market Risk IT&S team and infrastructure support team.Key Accountabilities:Partner with key users, business leads, and project sponsors to understand the needs of the business, document them (Agile - via requirements documents, use cases and process diagrams) and determine the appropriate short and long term solutions to meet themBuild solution to auto deploy build artefacts to Dev, UAT and Production environmentDevelop deployment and configuration pipelines, integrate with new / existing toolsExperience managing Windows servers and servicesFamiliarity configuring build systems, package managers and artifacts repositoriesAdvise on additional tools and approaches to automation deployment in the CloudEssential Experience and Job Requirements:Strong background in Windows administrationKnowledge of the source code versioning tools (TFS, Subversion, ClearCase)Experience with automation/configuration management using Jenkins, Artifactory, Puppet, Chef or an equivalentAbility to use a wide variety of open source technologiesExperience in working with AWS Cloud environment (required)Background in Linux/Unix administrationExperience working with scripting languages and tools (Python, PHP, Ruby, PowerShell, Linux/Unix shell scripts, ANT)Experience with SQL (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) with NoSQL experience as a plusA working understanding of code (Java, C# .NET)Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available serviceDesirable Criteria:Microsoft administration certificationLinux administration certificationAWS certification
