Desktop Systems Administrator I - ExemptEnd Client T-Rowe Price Location Owings Mills, MD Visa – H1BThe Desktop Systems Administrator packages and deploys applications across the entire firm utilizing Admin Studio Packaging software and System Center Configuration Manager infrastructure. Employee works with developers and project teams to understand the application requirements and help chose deployment methods that would best support the software in a production role. The software repository that contains all of the application deployments for the company is managed through the lifecycle of each application from the initial packaging, through patching and updating of the application, through the eventual replacement and decommissioning of the application.
Maintains software installation packaging responsibilities. Provides installation packages in both physical and virtual delivery modes, creates manual install instructions and deployment batch files, and manages the rollout through the decommissioning process for all automated software installations.Experience with major systems implementations Ability to work closely with peers, vendors and the customer during projects and issue resolutions Detail oriented as the tasks this group is charged with affect many desktops and therefore fallout from a mistake is global Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to formulate information into shared documents Strong interpersonal skills Must be comfortable working with all levels of management due to the wide reaching charter of this group Ability to provide 24x7/365 support through on-call rotation May be asked to provide 24 hour pager support and performs off-hours support as needed Start Time: 8:00 AM Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Location: OMTC OM Tech Center 11550 Cronridge Drive Owings Mills MD 21117 United States Education: Additional Job Details: Knowledge and Skills Tools that are used in the process and skill level required: Microsoft SCCM Understanding of all components involved in the packaging and deployment process Microsoft.MSI Format Primary file type for deployment, should have in depth understanding of the makeup and management of command line options and transform (.mst) file usage Microsoft App-V method for creation of virtually deployable applications. Should have understanding of the concepts of the product and basic knowledge Batch files Should have a high level understanding of batch file setup and usage PowerShell Should have an understanding of the language and be able to write simple scripts to assist in deployment creation Flexera Admin Studio Primary repository and packaging software.
Previous experience with this product or similar products is needed. Windows OS Very high level understanding of both Windows 7 and 10 Office High level of understanding of Office 2010 through Office 365 pro plus Good understanding of the Microsoft infrastructure that supports the desktops including Active Directory Policies, Groups, and Users Minimum Qualifications College degree and 1 year of related work experience, or Associate degree and 3 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 5 years related work experience required Preferred 4 year technical degree with 2 years experience, or a minimum of 4 years related work experience preferred Previous experience with Microsoft SCCM environment preferred Previous experience with Microsoft App-v environment preferred Previous experience with Flexera Admin Studio packaging infrastructure Previous application packaging, preference is with MSI based packages Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred
