  • Primary customer engineering contact for technical discussions, design reviews, and on‑site support.
  • Represent GG at customer technical and program meetings.
  • Lead customer interface for change control, technical issues, and engineering deliverables.
  • Evaluate customer information for accuracy and communicate requirements clearly to internal teams.
  • Escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Full technical ownership of wiring harness and component development projects.
  • Ensure designs meet customer specifications, internal standards, and automotive regulations.
  • Lead development from prototype phase through production launch.
  • Maintain program‑specific DFMEA and align with global engineering teams.
  • Support validation, feasibility studies, DV/PV, and engineering change requests.
  • Review, release, and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, technical specifications, and BOM documentation.
  • Manage product changes throughout the lifecycle, ensuring alignment with customer and internal requirements.
  • Maintain open issues lists and drive timely closure.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with project management, manufacturing plants, suppliers, and global development teams.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to evaluate the impact of design changes on production, industrialization, and product quality.
  • Interface with customer and internal cross‑functional teams to achieve program milestones.
  • Collaborate with DVP&R teams to validate products according to customer requirements.
  • Initiate customer plant trials, document results, and obtain required approvals.
  • Support internal teams in understanding customer requirements and act as the lead interface.
  • Prepare engineering status reports, risk assessments, and technical presentations for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate customer requirements for technical compliance and communicate impacts on timing, cost, and feasibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities and support successful product launches.
  • Generate and support cost‑reduction ideas across design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Support global collaboration across engineering teams.
  • Lead project timelines and coordinate activities globally to achieve milestones.
  • Travel to customer as required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within North America and to collaborate closely with Austrian and global G&G teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Min 2 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Product Engineer, or Development Engineer within the automotive industry. Tier I supplier environment with FCA experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wiring harness systems, vehicle integration, and automotive development processes.
  • Experience with CAD, PLM/PDM systems, engineering releases, and change management processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and close actions items to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Must have good working knowledge in MS Office: Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Outlook
