Design Manager, Content - HealthApple's Health team is looking for an experienced design leader who loves being close to the work. You'll join a growing creative team — working alongside clinical experts and world-class technologists — and bring the kind of collaborative, design-obsessed leadership that makes a team thrive. Together, you'll shape content and technology that helps Apple customers live healthier, more informed lives.ResponsibilitiesSet and maintain a strong creative vision for Health content across all formats and platformsManage a small team of designers and art directors — coordinating assignments, ensuring consistency, and nurturing individual growthCollaborate with the greater editorial team, including video, in the development and execution of many content types; work closely with engineers, clinicians, and data scientists to understand needs, constraints, and goalsGuide the commissioning and art direction of illustration and still photographyIterate on and critique your own work and the work of others to ensure the best solutions for every problemWork within a schedule to deliver high-quality work on time, managing multiple projects simultaneouslyExtend existing design patterns across new ideas and platforms with confidence and consistencyChampion a collaborative, iterative design process inspired by open critique and creative generosityMinimum QualificationsMinimum of 10–12 years of experience crafting extraordinary digital content designs for iOS, desktop, or web platforms, including at least 3–5 years in a design management or creative leadership roleBackground in media, editorial, publishing, or content-forward digital environments — a deep understanding of how stories are told across formats is strongly preferredProficient in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, After Effects, Illustrator, and other design toolsStrong communication and presentation skills with a talent for working closely with cross-functional teams including video, data, design, category experts, engineering, and program managementEstablished network of designers, illustrators, photographers, and photo production teamsProven ability to oversee the workflow for many projects at once without losing quality or momentumPassion for Apple, its products, and its customersPreferred QualificationsExperience leading creative at a media company, editorial brand, or content-forward digital platformExperience with health apps, programs, or data is not necessary but valuable; a genuine passion for health is a mustSelf-motivated and able to efficiently lead a project and a team with appropriate autonomyPrototyping and/or animation experience is a plusBudget management experience and creative thinking around resource allocationComfortable navigating ambiguity and change — able to adapt fluidly while keeping the team steady and focusedPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $237,600 and $356,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
