Design Execution Project ManagerLocation: Haverhill, OhioResource is required to be on-site one (1) day per week to align with Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) meetings.Travel Requirements: 20% travel requiredCompany: Apex SystemsJob Description: The Design Project Manager will be responsible for managing the design process from campus planning / basis of design stage through issuance of construction drawings. This includes building matrixed design teams from internal stakeholders and external design service partners, facilitating execution planning, and overseeing construction administration services provided by design partners in support of construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building construction and/or design, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:Facilitate planning and kickoff workshops with internal & external stakeholdersFacilitate design reviews in partnership with external partnersFacilitate large scale workshops as necessaryAuthor scopes of work for contracts and gain stakeholder alignmentIssue and administer contractsDefine and track deliverables from various partiesTrack cost, schedule, progress, and scopeProvide health reporting on cost, schedule, scope, and progressBuild optimal design teams from internal stakeholders and external partnersManage changes to project scope and design contractsFacilitate technical decisions in line with project needsCoordinate design activities with procurement and constructionProvide clear communication with stakeholders and partnersEnsure engineering information is issued to the right party, at the right time, in the right formatRequirements:Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related fieldProfessional licensure (PE, NCARB, RA) preferred or equivalent experienceExperience with data center design and/or construction preferred7+ years of experience in design and/or construction project managementStrong understanding of construction principles and practicesExperience coordinating cross-functional teamsExperience preparing project plans and specificationsExperience drafting scopes of workKnowledge of government regulationsExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong leadership and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
