Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of custom automated machinery projects for a diverse range of manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will manage the mechanical engineering responsibilities and deliverables from the conceptual phase through final design, build, debug, and commissioning at client facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop deeper knowledge and skills in complex machine design.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and methods to ensure on-time and on-budget engineering deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and departmental co-workers to meet project contractual requirements.
  • Participate in the engineering review process and influence team members in design maturation.
  • Represent the company professionally in client-facing presentations during the engineering phase.
  • Work with minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment in decision making.
  • Challenge the status quo with ideas and initiatives that promote efficiency, safety, and workflow improvements.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, mechanical design, and machine design.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline, or an associate's degree with experience from an accredited program (ABET/EAC).
  • 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Proficient in standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to supervise others and provide technical mentorship.
  • Experience in the automation industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D Modeling.
  • The person or EIT certification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Ability to quickly recognize and resolve common engineering problems.
  • Viewed as a technical specialist within the department.
  • May serve as a mentor/coach for developing engineers.
Work Environment

This role involves travel up to 5%, including overnight and international trips. The work environment includes opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative setting, focusing on efficiency and safety improvements. Dress code is professional attire suitable for client interactions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Easley, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
