Design Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ - 100% Onsite Relocation: We accept relocation but candidate must move on their own expense. Length: 6-12 months US Citizens ONLY C2C is okay.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
- Lead the design, development, and validation of electronic systems, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), firmware, and related hardware.
- Contribute to the full hardware lifecycle—architecture, design, debugging, deployment, and ongoing support of ICE products.
- Translate system-level requirements into detailed circuit specifications and select appropriate technologies.
- Create, maintain, and enhance embedded firmware solutions.
- Apply software development practices and project management methods to hardware/firmware projects.
- Analyze and review electronic designs, equipment, and methodologies; propose and implement improvements.
- Provide expertise in RF system design and troubleshooting (highly desirable).
- Work with communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, Wi-Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, and MIL-STD-1553.
- Ensure designs comply with EMI/EMC standards and environmental regulations.
- Manage multiple priorities, balancing tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Contribute knowledge of encryption hardware (preferred).
- Deliver advanced PCB layouts (flex PCB background is advantageous).
- Apply extensive experience with Altium Designer in all PCB design activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 6+ years experience in electrical/computer engineering.
- Associates degree and 8+ years electronic design experience may substitute Bachelor's degree.
- Strong background in hardware (e.g. CCA design) and software (e.g. C) development required.
- Experience developing high performance embedded designs for RF signal processing applications required.
