Design Director/Manager

We are excited to be partnering with a highly regarded multidisciplinary design studio known for its thoughtful approach to high-end residential and hospitality projects. As the studio continues to grow, they are looking for a Design Director to take ownership of the design direction and help shape the next phase of the practice.

This is a senior, hands‑on design role for someone with a strong creative point of view who can work closely with the Principal and wider design team. You will lead design direction, develop concepts and project narratives, and ensure design intent is carried through from concept to completion.

A key part of the role will be mentoring and developing designers through design guidance and feedback, helping to strengthen the creative voice of the wider team. You will also remain closely involved throughout project delivery, finding design solutions to technical and construction challenges while balancing client vision, budget and programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead design direction across high‑end residential and hospitality projects
• Develop concepts, narratives and design strategies from inception
• Partner closely with the Principal and senior team
• Mentor and develop designers through creative guidance and feedback
• Review and elevate design work across the studio
• Solve design challenges through documentation and construction
• Present design concepts confidently to clients and internal teams
• Help shape the studio's evolving design culture and creative direction

ABOUT YOU

• 10+ years' experience in architecture or interior design
• Strong portfolio of high‑end residential and/or hospitality projects
• Strong conceptual, presentation and communication skills
• Collaborative leadership style with strong emotional intelligence
• Experience mentoring and developing designers
• Able to balance creative ambition with budget, programme and technical requirements
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD ; Revit a plus
