- Design and release brake control modules and brackets, owning all deliverables associated with the systems
- Guide supplier partners through the Ford Global Product Development System process
- Perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses
- Establish requirements for advanced brake control systems and emerging technologies with the chassis controls foundation team
- Coordinate with Electrical, Powertrain, and Vehicle Program teams to define and support vehicle interfaces
- Support vehicle testing, rig testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations
- Manage system quality, cost, and timing to ensure high-quality program deliverables
- Manage product release CAD and BOM structures, assembly positioning, and mass attribute analysis
- Facilitate supplier data integration and develop CAD studies to drive design improvements
- Complete FMVSS documentation and compliance for brake-control safety systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline, or equivalent qualification
- 4 years of design or development experience in chassis or powertrain controls
- Experience with FMEA and related Failure Mode Avoidance processes
- Familiarity with vehicle network communication (CAN)
- Ability to learn new tools, troubleshoot, and fix vehicle problems
- Experience in supplier management and cost negotiation
- Familiarity with computer-aided design systems, including TeamCenter and 3DX
- Experience with complex system analysis tools and methods
- Experience with problem-solving methods
- Experience with software and electrical interfaces
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
