- Manage the day-to-day activities of organizing staff and organizing programs across Wisconsin
- Collaborate with the State Director, state leadership, national organizing staff, department directors, and key partners to implement campaign plans
- Lead results-driven organizing and direct voter contact programs
- Evaluate program impact and innovate approaches to ensure success
- Report qualitative and quantitative organizing metrics and accomplishments to stakeholders
- Set priorities and strategy for traditional and digital organizing programs
- Monitor volunteer engagement on online platforms and the community hub
- Meet voter contact, grassroots engagement, digital engagement, and GOTV benchmarks
- Establish a diverse, equitable, accountable, innovative, purposeful, and goal-oriented team culture
- Create phone, door, and SMS campaign scripts
- Track and report staff time for compliance reporting
- Hire, coach, and train organizing and direct voter contact staff
- Maintain daily program check-ins and regular one-on-ones with organizing staff
- Perform additional duties assigned by the State Director
Requirements
- 2+ cycles of campaign experience, including at least 1 cycle of organizing and management experience
- Dedication to grassroots and local organizing
- Understanding of local community-based organizations and respect for their leaders and programs
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing staff from all backgrounds
- Experience team building and developing organizational talent
- Competency with and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to manage staff remotely
- Experience with program management across multiple internal departments for statewide issue advocacy or electoral campaigns
- Knowledge of effective electoral plans, including targeting, voter contact, GOTV, and best practices
- Initiative, multitasking, time management, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to write compelling program reports
- Ability to navigate conflict and work toward resolution
- Willingness to travel, work long hours, and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain “Independent” firewall status, which may limit outside employment or political volunteering
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and conduct door-to-door canvassing and site-based events/training
- Ability to transport up to 15 pounds
- Ability to travel across Wisconsin
- Availability for weekends, holidays, nights, and campaign blackout dates
