Deputy Executive Director, Education Service

Job Title

The position is located within the Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) Education Service.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsibility for the operational governance of Education Service, ensuring that program metrics, quality standards, and service delivery targets are achieved across all functional areas.
• Serving as the executive authority over the internal Education Service program management portfolio.
• Ensuring Education Service programs are administered in accordance with applicable statute, regulation, and VBA policy.
• Overseeing responses to findings from the Office of Inspector General, Government Accountability Office, Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection, Office of Management and Budget, and financial and compliance auditors.
• Providing executive oversight to ensure that Education Service's national training programs are coordinated, reflect consistent standards, and meet VA and VBA enterprise training requirements.
• Briefing Congressional staff, the Office of Management and Budget, and other senior stakeholders on GI Bill programs, bills, and legislative proposals as well as representing Education Service at interagency meetings and multi-agency work groups.
