About the Opportunity

Our client is a private equity firm specializing in investments across energy, infrastructure, and industrial markets. Backed by significant institutional capital, the firm has built a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where compliance is viewed as a strategic partner to the business. As the platform continues to grow, the firm is seeking a senior compliance professional to serve as #2 to the GC/CCO with a direct path to take on the CCO role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior management in the oversight and enhancement of the firm's comprehensive compliance program.
  • Lead ongoing monitoring, testing, and risk assessment initiatives across the organization.
  • Advise investment professionals, operating partners, investor relations, finance, and operations teams on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Oversee compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Manage regulatory filings, reporting obligations, and examination readiness.
  • Review and approve marketing materials, fundraising documents, investor communications, and public‑facing content.
  • Lead employee compliance initiatives, including code of ethics administration, personal trading reviews, certifications, and training programs.
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting private fund managers and assess potential business impact.
  • Support compliance aspects of fundraising activities, new product launches, strategic initiatives, and vendor oversight.
  • Prepare materials and reporting for senior management and governance committees.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the long‑term strategic development of the compliance function.

Qualifications

  • 7-12+ years of compliance, legal, regulatory, or risk experience within private equity or private credit.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC investment adviser regulations and private fund compliance requirements.
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and partnering across investment, finance, operations, and investor‑facing teams.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on in a lean, collaborative environment.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, communication skills, and executive presence.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
