Beyond managing shifts, you'll help develop team members, improve performance, and support the business's overall success.This position is designed for experienced Shift Managers or leaders from restaurant, retail, or hospitality backgrounds who are ready to take on greater responsibility. You'll help guide the team, oversee key areas of the operation, and build the next generation of leaders.What you'll do:Department Managers typically oversee one of the restaurant's core operational areas:Guest ExperienceEnsure guests receive fast, friendly service across the dining room, drive-thru, and front counterLead customer service training and support promotional initiativesMotivate team members to deliver a positive guest experienceKitchen OperationsMaintain high standards for food quality, safety, and preparationMonitor food costs and product usageTrain kitchen team members on procedures, equipment, and new menu itemsPeople & StaffingSupport hiring, training, and scheduling of team membersHelp develop crew members and future leadersRecognize strong performance and encourage a positive team cultureIn addition, Department Managers help lead shifts, coach crew and shift managers, monitor performance goals, and maintain a productive work environment.Career growth: Path to General ManagerStrong Department Managers have the opportunity to advance to General Manager, a salaried leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation.Future leaders may also participate in advanced leadership training programs, including courses at Hamburger University in Chicago, McDonald's world-class management development center.What we're looking for:Leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environmentsStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to motivate teams and hold people accountable to standardsA commitment to operational excellence and customer serviceMust be 18 years or older and able to work a flexible scheduleBenefits & perksCompetitive pay starting at $16–$20 per hourPaid vacation (up to 15 days based on tenure)Medical, dental, and vision insurance optionsShort- and long-term disability, life, and accident coverageFree meal during shiftsProfessional training and leadership developmentEducation support through Archways to OpportunityEmployee recognition programs and service awardsAdditional informationThis posting provides a general overview of the role and responsibilities.
