Position Overview
We are seeking a Department Manager to oversee the Heart of House, Bar, or Hospitality department at Buffalo Wild Wings. The role requires managing staff, ensuring quality, maintaining profitability, and delivering a superior guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead staffing, recruitment, orientation, and ongoing development of department team members.
- Maintain department training, certifications, and performance standards.
- Develop and administer incentive programs and contests.
- Conduct regular performance feedback and appraisal of staff.
- Assist the General Manager with coaching other managers and overall restaurant operations.
- Ensure all department equipment and inventory are maintained, and report needs for repair.
- Enforce food safety, health, and brand quality standards across all operations.
- Utilize GEM, QSC, P&L, and other performance tools to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement service, quality, and cleanliness standards for wall charts, recipes, and vendor compliance.
- Manage food and beverage costs, labor results, and waste reduction to meet company targets.
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly projections and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Plan and oversee bar operations: ordering, inventory control, staff training, and RAS compliance.
- Support marketing initiatives and local restaurant promotions.
- Maintain guest comment program and address food quality complaints.
- Participate in special events, promotions, and sales building contests.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience.
- Experience managing a restaurant with a full bar is preferred.
- High school education or equivalent, valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication.
