About the Role
As a Department Manager, you’ll lead and support your team, fostering an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for the store, customers and colleagues, analyze sales and create plans to optimize results and profits.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
- Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
- Identify and act on commercial opportunities based on department strengths.
- Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.
- Ensure customer service across all store areas and lead your team in active promotion and selling.
- Promote the Hello Member loyalty app and sustainability initiatives.
- Manage department cost‑efficiency.
- Maintain correct routines in fitting room, checkout, returns, exchanges, and admin processes.
- Keep up‑to‑date on fashion trends, brands, competitors, and relevant influencers.
- Provide product and fashion knowledge to team members.
- Recruit, onboard, manage performance, upskill and develop the team.
- Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and share knowledge.
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandiser team and provide feedback.
- Plan and schedule team activities, communicate and motivate daily/weekly.
- Ensure all procedures, routines and legal requirements are followed.
- Open and close the store daily, maintain clean sales floor and back‑of‑house, and manage stock levels.
- Maintain visual presentation, garment care, and fit‑room routines.
- Follow best practice for in‑store OMNI services and technology.
- Ensure correct price signage and consistent pricing perception.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, ability to take responsibility for others.
- Aspiring, effective communicator, supportive, analytical problem‑solver, comfortable with numbers and stats.
- Achievement‑oriented, motivated by performance and customer centricity.
- Experience managing a retail department and driving sales.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Expected base salary range is $20.90‑$24.04 per hour (non‑exempt, hourly). Benefits include staff discount, health insurance, wellness and family support programs, retirement plan, paid leave, and paid time off.
