About the Role
As a Department Manager, you’ll lead and encourage your whole team. By bringing everyone together, you’ll create an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurship, helping you, your team, and H&M succeed. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers and colleagues, assess strengths and opportunities, analyze sales, and create plans to optimize results and profits.
Responsibilities
- Provide total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
- Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
- Identify your department’s strengths and commercial opportunities and act on them.
- Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.
- Ensure customer service is provided across all store areas and that your team actively promotes and sells products to customers.
- Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives.
- Manage your department cost‑efficiently.
- Maintain correct fitting room and checkout routines, including transactions, returns and exchanges.
- Handle all administration routines for people and operations.
- Keep up‑to‑date with fashion trends, new styles, brands, and competitors, and share product and fashion knowledge with your team.
- Recruit, onboard, manage performance, upskill and develop your team in‑store.
- Complete performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Retain and share knowledge and skills with your team.
- Collaborate, plan, and teamwork with the Visual Merchandiser team.
- Provide and receive feedback to support each other’s development.
- Plan and schedule the team’s work.
- Communicate daily, weekly, and as needed to motivate and inspire store colleagues.
- Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and courses relevant to your role.
- Secure a clean, tidy sales floor and back‑of‑house, maintaining good stock levels and allocation to area teams.
- Ensure high‑fashion quality, visual, and commercial presentation with proper garment care.
- Adhere to the full garment cycle, fitting room routines and internal standards.
- Maintain OMNI services and in‑store technology tools.
- Maintain price signs and accurate pricing throughout the store.
- Update and upkeep BOH areas for all colleagues.
- Open and close the store daily.

Compensation: expected base salary range is $26.60 - $30.59 hourly.
